NFL Recap: Denver Edge Struggling Jets in Defensive Affair

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to seal the hard-fought win.

Defensive Performance Wins Game

Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 total net yards during the entire game.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained possession with a opportunity to drive for a potential winning score. However Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields struggled throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach stated after the contest.
